The Jetty 2 Jetty Half Marathon & Fun Run (J2J) has been organised and delivered by the Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) since 2015. MBRIT is the official Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for the City of Moreton Bay, and key delivery partner for the Regional Economic Development Strategy. MBRIT is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to increase the prosperity of the City of Moreton Bay.
Since becoming the delivery partner for the J2J, MBRIT has expanded the event, making it a staple in the Queensland sporting calendar. Through MBRIT's strategy and dedication the J2J has grown to boast an impressive turnout of over 5,000 runners, joggers, and walkers annually. This growth is a testament to MBRIT's commitment to excellence and its strategic vision for the event.
One of the key milestones in J2J's evolution under MBRIT’s guidance was getting the event added to the prestigious Queensland It’s Live calendar. This inclusion brought significant state government funding, enabling further expansion and enhanced marketing efforts. The event’s profile was elevated, attracting a wider audience from across Queensland and beyond.
Another noteworthy achievement was securing IAAF AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) course certification for the race course. This certification is a hallmark of quality, recognising the course as meeting international standards. It has helped to attract serious runners, both domestic and international, who seek certified courses for qualifying times and personal bests.
MBRIT’s partnership with the Moreton Bay Road Runners has been instrumental in the event’s ongoing success.
