GKS Law 10km Wheelchair Race

GKS Law 10km Wheelchair Race

This year’s Jetty 2 Jetty is off to a running start with course certification, a new 10km wheelchair race and registrations flowing already.

The new wheelchair 10km race is expected to draw competitors from across the state and beyond. The new category follows last year’s event in which an elite wheelchair athlete took part as well as other wheelchair participants. It made sense to make it official this year.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) CEO Shane Newcombe said this race is an exciting addition to one of the most scenic and popular running events on the calendar.

“I am proud of the team who work tirelessly to make this fun run better each year. The inclusion of the 10km wheelchair category will be a fantastic addition, making the event as inclusive as the course allows.”

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Mayor, Peter Flannery is also elated with the news of the course certification and inclusion of the 10km wheelchair race,

“I can’t understate my excitements about this, there’s no better way for our events to be bouncing back from COVID than by making them more inclusive for all,” he said.

“My ambition is to make this region the most accessible in South East Queensland and the inclusion of a wheelchair race is a great way to demonstrate that there are no barriers to enjoying the beauty of Moreton Bay.

“This is unquestionably the most scenic run in Australia, so sign up now and learn what all the hype’s about.”
