J2J runners raise thousands for Headspace Redcliffe

More than $11,000 has been raised from the 2018 Jetty 2 Jetty (J2J) for one of the Redcliffe Peninsula’s leading youth mental health services after more than 4,400 runners laced up to participate in the 2018 Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run.

Every year J2J nominates a charity to support and raise funds through race registration and encourages additional fundraising. In 2018, Headspace Redcliffe, a Youth Mental Health Foundation was chosen as the charity.

Through J2J this year the event has helped to highlight the importance of the services Headspace Redcliffe offers to support the healthy well being of our community’s youth and young adults.

Congratulations Headspace Redcliffe

Due to the overwhelming support of the 2018 J2J, the first ever sold-out event, we have raised a whopping $11,244.96 to support the foundation!

The money raised will go to Headspace Redcliffe, which provides mental health support from experienced health practitioner’s, alcohol and drugs counselling, support groups, youth groups, programs for depression and anxiety management and much more.

Headspace Redcliffe intend to use the donated funds to deliver outreach support services to young people aged 12-25 in the Moreton Bay Community.

Headspace Redcliffe have been attending the J2J for the past 3 years, this year they held an information stall, providing information about their services to race participants. Headspace Redcliffe plan to continue to be involved with the J2J next year.

Services at the headspace Redcliffe centre are either free, or have a low cost. You can ask if there is a cost when you make your appointment. Some services require you to have a referral from a doctor; but don't worry headspace can help you with this as well.
