Supporting young people in need at J2J

The J2J team this year is calling for more than just a positive attitude and perfect weather conditions this race day. This year, they are asking for runners to donate the shirt, quite literally, off their own back!

On Sunday, 21st of July the annual Jetty 2 Jetty fun run will be teaming up with local charity, Chameleon House, to gather donations of jumpers and blankets to support young people in a housing crisis.

For those that don’t know, Chameleon House is a youth crisis accommodation for young people and young parenting families who are in need of safety and shelter. The organisations selflessness has been a beacon of light for the Redcliffe community for almost 30 years by supporting and caring for those who are in need.

Providing over 5,500 bed nights to young people in 2018 alone.

This year a portion of every registration fee is being donated to Chameleon house, and the J2J team is hoping to raise over $10,000 for this fantastic cause, helping out the local youth in the community.

To help support this cause, the community can register for any of the four J2J races. Plus, participants can bring jumpers and blankets with them to the race precinct and donate via the donation bins at the start line. But donating jumpers and blankets is not mandatory, we only ask for what you can give during this cold season. It might be a good way to clear out some old cupboard space too!

Participants wanting to enter the J2J have four race distances to choose from; GKS Law Half marathon (21.1km), Village Motors 10km, Ballycara 5km or Sesame Lane 3km. Entry prices into the 21km and 10km events include a 2019 J2J singlet while 3km and 5km participants receive a 2019 J2J cap.

Registrations are open until 20th July unless sold out prior. Register here
